Internet Access Services
Our Internet Access Services ensures your business gets the connectivity it’s always wanted.
Even before the turn of the decade and the pandemic, the reliance that businesses had on their internet connections was growing quickly. Fast-forward to today and the need for reliable, high-speed internet access that is still cost-effective is even greater.
But with so many different technologies, speeds and services available, it can be hard to decide which is right for you. But don’t worry – that’s where Future Voice can help. We’ll learn as much as we can about your business before recommending the right solution for your needs. In the mean-time, here’s a breakdown of the technologies available.
Ethernet / WAN | Fibre Broadband | ADSL Broadband | |
Max Download Speed | 10Gb | 76Mb | 17Mb |
ADSL, FTTC, FTTP SoGEA
Care levels allow you to place the importance on the service ‘fix time’ depending on your customer needs.
We would recommend you consider the care levels depending on needs for example a small business which is reliant on data services will benefit from having ENHANCED CARE to minimise potential downtime. All of our packages include the STANDARD CARE level.
Care Level | Hours Of Work | BTW | TTB | Vodafone | Exclusions | Requirement |
STANDARD CARE | Mon-Fri (8.00-18.00) | 40 WH | 48 WH | 48 WH | Regional Public and bank Holidays. Allowable parked times. | INCLUDED |
ENHANCED CARE | 24 x 7 | 20 CH | 24 CH | 24 CH | Allowable parked times. | OPTIONAL |
PREMIUM CARE | 24 x 7 | 8 CH | N/A | N/A | Allowable parked times. | OPTIONAL |
Priority Level | Description | Target Resolution Time | Response Time |
HIGH | Total loss of service resulting from a single event. | 5 hours – Ethernet#. 7 hours for other services. | ½ hour followed by updates each hour. |
MEDIUM | Partial loss of service or degradation of service, resulting from one event. Partial loss where service is intermittent or slow throughput. | 24 hours | 4 hours |
LOW | Service Enhancement* that requires a change to existing service and/or DAISY Network components that will facilitate service. | 3 Business Days | - |

ADSL connections used to be ideal for business use with speeds up to 13Mbps, but as usage has increased and businesses rely far more on their internet access than before, they have superseded by higher-bandwidth technologies. However, that doesn’t mean ADSL connections are useless.
These low-cost options are ideal for non-mission-critical use-cases like back-ups and failover connections. Just don’t expect to run all your video conferences and collaboration sessions through one.
Fibre connections are the new standard for businesses up and down the country. Using light instead of electrical signals, your data will literally travel at the speed of light to where it needs to go, with speeds up to 76 Mbps.
They’re perfect to enable reliable VoIP and video conferencing, depending on your size, and can be scaled up far easier than an ADSL service. And if you opt for a full-fibre service, sometimes referred to as FTTP, you can enjoy speeds past 300Mbps!
Ethernet / WAN delivers guaranteed bandwidth, a dedicated connection, site-to-site connectivity and a level of service that enables your business to stay connected and grow at scale.
With 100Mbps speeds, SLAs, 24/7 support and monitoring, >10ms latency and no need for site-to-site VPNs, Future Voice is the perfect service to deliver all your connectivity needs through a single connection.
With GEA (Generic Ethernet Access) you can take advantage of speeds up to 20Mbps and rest assured that your network is being managed by industry experts, along with a Service Level Agreement (SLA) that promises a fix to outages within a specific timeframe.
This added level of network management means a more secure network, less hassle for your team and a hands-off approach to your network administration, compared to Fibre or ADSL services.
Ethernet First Mile, as it sounds, utilises an Ethernet connection before joining the main exchange. While this means a longer installation time (usually 1-2 months) the ongoing costs are fairly low when compared to other connections that aren’t shared by other users.
Speeds can rise up to 35Mbps, and low-usage operations that need a reliable connection can quickly scale up their bandwidth as the business grows. EFM services usually come with an SLA that is comparable, or even better, than comparable GEA solutions.
Sometimes known as MPLS connections, Leased Lines are bespoke connections that provide speed up to 10Gbps (10,000Mbps) that run directly from the premises to the nearest exchange. While these carry a significant cost, the benefits can be huge.
Leased Lines aren’t shared by any other users, so bandwidth is consistent and have the same upload and download speeds, even during peak times. They also come with superior SLAs, usually guaranteeing fixes within a few hours, to ensure downtime is kept to a minimum. Plus, security is more robust than cheaper alternatives and upgrading the connection is far easier as your business grows.
For those who need the most resilient, high-performance internet services, SD-WAN is ideal for international operations that utilise multiple services from various suppliers.
By optimising the available bandwidths with multiple data routes, Software Defined Wide Area Networks interconnect multiple sites and reduce reliance on expensive MPLS connections. Plus, as a fully managed solution that’s monitored by network engineers, any suspicious activity is immediately flagged and investigated.
